It all started when…

Being born and raised in Brooklyn, you are exposed to so many different people, cultures, and hustles. Brooklyn is indeed a “melting pot”, but finding yourself amongst all that goes on, is a truly defining moment.

My mother being a well-known hairstylist in Brooklyn, has always caused me to be exposed to the spotlight. I always had to keep a clean image. Junior year of high school is where I realized that this, indeed is my strong suit. I was the Vice President of my high school and that is where it hit me. Branding and Public Image is what I was good at.

So, for college, I decided to go to Virginia State University to study Public Relations from their many talented professors. I learned so much and met so many people. One of the most important people that I met, that has brought me to this point in my life, was Mrs. Danielle Fitz-Hugh. She was the CEO of the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and she gave me the biggest opportunity I could’ve imagined. She hired me as the PR Intern for the Chamber. In a conversation with Danielle and her peers, towards the end of my internship, she told me that I should consider pursuing a master’s degree into Branding. I didn’t even know that there were such programs that brought PR and Marketing together. I did my research and with her help, applied for the BIC Program, and here I am today. About to graduate with a Masters in Branding & Integrated Communications.
